Ghostery is a browser tool available for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer, as well as a standalone app available for iOS. It scans the page for trackers - scripts, pixels, and other elements - and notifies you of the companies whose code is present on the webpage you are visiting. These trackers often aren't otherwise visible and are often not detailed in the page source code. Ghostery allows you to learn more about these companies and their practices, and block the page elements from loading if the user chooses. This app didnt really show me much on my computer.. I actually had alot of trouble with it. But overall i think the app is and or could be something that will help tremendously to keep your privacy..

inste.nets.t Final project
Intro Video demonstrates #1. I feel that making an intro video helps show yourself. It helps them get to know who the students are out of their own mouths. It shows what part of them they want you to see, which goes self esteem..I would use this in a classroom because it would show what the kids really are interested in . When people talk about themselves they usually tell you something that they love or is in their hearts. This way kids can express what is important to them from the beginning.
Ghostery Represents #4. Ghostery showed thing on the Internet that were tracking you. I don't know if i would use this as a way to teach my kids in class. Number 4 is teaching safe, legal, and ethical use of information and technology. So with that being said i would not use ghostery with my children because it really is not teaching them much in my eyes. I do feel thta there would be better tools to teach about information and technology. Ghostery may only be a good tool for me as a Teacher.
The face book exercise demonstrates #3. Number three is said to influence knowledge to new technology and situations. It is also said to collaborate with students, peers, parents and community using digital tools. I think this would be a good exercise because i don't know many people without face book and people keep in touch with each other threw this. I also feel that it may not be a good tool for younger kids because elementary children are not old enough to use this but many lie about their age in order to get on fb anyway.
The concept map demonstrates #5. It exhibits leadership and demonstrates a vision of current research. I would use this in my classroom to teach my kids about something and go into detail where they will understand better. It would help me as a teacher go into the things i need to talk about. Kids would be more interesting because the detailing would help them in many ways. Yes i would use this tool in my classroom.
The Voki exercise was really fun. It represented #3. This exercise we used it to voice our opinions about something USM does that we do not like or we feel needs to be improved. I would use this in class to improve my teaching or what i need to do to help them learn. We can learn alot from students and their ways of learning if we just listened. This would be a great way to get that from them.
The web page is an example of #5. I think this is a great way to show parents and or employers who we are as well as our history as teachers. It gives them an understanding on where you have been and how much you love what you do. I would use this in order for my parents to get to know me as an educator of their children. I think this would be a little to in depth for my students but i would use photos only for them.
The xtranormal activity was an example of #1 and 2. It helps kids to explore real-world issues. and solve authentic problems. as well as personalize activities that address students diverse situations. I would use this in my classroom to capture the attention of my students and to also get their attention in a different way. It would help in so many ways to teach them Right from wrong and what to look for in different situations.
The Movie maker activity represents #2. It uses experience that Incorporated digital looks. This activity was kinda fun. It helped people get a sense of where you come from and where you are wanting to go. I don't know if i would use this on my younger children but i would with older kids like Jr high or high school students . It helps show what they love as well as family times . Maybe even show the bad and good things that have gone on in their lives. it would help and I may use it a time or two according to the situation.

how to hit a fastpitch softball
How to Hit a Fast pitch softball!
I. Quick Hands
Quick hands play a big part in this game as well. How fast your hands are determine how far and how hard the ball comes off the bat. sometimes in fastpitch its not about how strong you are but about how quick your hands react to the ball. No, every time you hit the ball its not going to go where you want it to . Sometimes it may go straight up, May even go straight down. on a normal level if you have quick hands your going to be trouble for your opponent!
A. Must have good bat speed
B. Strong hands
II. Good Eye Contact
Having good eye contact is very important in fast pitch softball. The most important part is having your eye on the ball whenever it is released. If not, you could possibly miss the entire ball. Which is normal in fast pitch. Also when i say good eye contact its more of having the proper equipment like glasses or contacts. With these you may be better than you think! :)
A. Watch the Release of the pitcher and the ball very well.
B. Proper visual equipment such as glasses or contacts
III. Equipment
We all know you can't play a softball without Bats, balls, field, glove, and of course cleats. Cleats to keep you from falling, bats so we can hit of course, balls, and gloves for catching. Without these things the game isnt possible.
A. Bats, balls, batting glove, and cleats
B. Softball Field
IV. Opponent
There are three legit people in this game that you have to take on . First off its the pitcher and catcher. These two people are going to be shaping you up from the time your in the batters box to see how you swing, where you stand, and what makes you hesitate. As a hitter you also have to take on your mind. This may seem strange but fast pitch is a mind game that everyone can't play. Have to have positive thoughts and play your mind and your opponents at all times.
A. Pitcher and Catcher
B. Your Mind
V. Motivation
Motivation is a big part in every ones life. I know we all have motivators in our life whether its our mom, dad, or grandma. Softball is the same way. We have our team and families behind us to cheer us on. On the other hand if you don't step onto the field with the ora or mind of a winner , who is going to believe you? So self motivation is a big deal!
A. Crowd and Team
B. Self Motivation

nine ways the common core will change classroom practice
The University of Distinguished professor of education at Michigan State University did a survey and found that the majority of teachers read the standards and like most of them. They also found about 80% of mathematic teachers said they are basically the standards. Michigan state feels that they should re-evaluate what they read because of the significant difference. There are nine important differences they have now;1in Mathematics the standards are notable not just for what they include but also for what they don't include. The standards concentrate more on arithmetic and less on geometry. Some popular topics like a calendar are not included at all, and there are no standards for data and statistics until 6th grade. so teachers are asked to concentrate on important things earlier. 2.Coherence one of the most criticisms of state standards is that they tend to include the same topics year after year.. Common core is designed to buld on students understanding .3.skills, understanding and application the aspect of mathematics knowledge is most important.4. Emphasis on praactices. The standards have 8 criteria for mathematical practices. Making sense of the problems and perserving to solve them reasoning and quantitatively. etc.. These are just a few of the basic changes in the core of mathematical. In the English department ;1. More nofiction;Reflecting the fact that students will read primarily expository text after highchool.the standards want students to write more expository pros. 2.Focus on Evidence more .. things of this sort.

New Technolgy welcomes students in Western Springs
In Western Springs, based on the integration of 30 Google chromebooks to the fifth-grade classrooms at John Laidlaw Elementary school, Teachers are finding new ways to use technology during the school day and students are responding with great motivation. A chromebook is a laptop that uses a google based web browser,as its operating system. Students and teachers have also used the chromebooks to create online quizzes that are accessible through google Documents. They complete the quizzes and the students who created it can input the scores into google spreadshees and average how well everyone did, what questions were most commonly missed and toher analytical data.

Out of School Settings Create Climate for New Skills
As things gets harder fro students to improve their digital-Learning and 21st century skills are being seen as setting to foster them. The thing that everyone is intrested in is whether the traditional definitions of schooling and learning need to be changed to provide better knowledge that include skills such as problem solving and creative thinking .. Limited research on the best pracrices and the landscape have made it hard to determine what is best for the students. In 2006 the MacAuthur foundation launched a project that examined new ways children were learning threw digital media. Alot of educators think it will be crucial to bridge the gap between the new learning experiences and traditional classroom experience.

The Answer Sheet
This article is about a education standard called "the core", which is divided up between teachers of math, science, language arts, and social studies. These are standardized test that are given in most schools that students have to pass in order to graduate. High Corporate intrest seem to think that the core was being sloppily taught . People seem to think that the educational quality isn't what is driving the education reform farce. America test every student, the mentally disabled, the sick, the homeless and even the transient. The scores are all lumped together and american students are at the top. In the future people are going to be disappointed. They will want to know how in a single generation , the world's oldest democracy dismantled its engine- free, public, locally controlled, democratic education. They will then have to dig into the process that produced the common
Core State Standards, most of their questions will soon be answered.

Educators Evaluate 'flipped classrooms'
This article is basically speaking about replacing lectures with video tutorials. They now call this approach the "flipped classroom". Flipping is the idea of swapping homework for class work. The students are assigned the video-watching for homework and class time is spent listening more and for hands on activities. People have begin to notice that this flipping method is not always successful because all students don't learn the same way and alot of educators agree. They feel that we are not teaching because every student learns in a different way.
As K-12 classrooms go high-tech. colleges get more virtual
This article is speaking about technology in the schools of America. It is becoming a major change in the learning department. Many schools in America are turning to technology like Imacs and Ipads for different ways to help students learn and to also help get internet classes that are hard to come in contact with. Altho Most people support these new learning styles there are some people who don't quite agree with using them fully. A science teacher at a high school in New York thinks instead of learning the lessons that this is just another way to make students memorize and regurgitate the information instead. The Higher education system is a bit more complicated. The cost of living at a university is more expensive now days and they are using these devices for lectures. Creating an online learning platform for students worldwide at no cost.
